Overview: Ted is competitive and impulsive. He isn’t a man who waits, he is a man of action. He likes to get in and get out, as fast as possible. According to Ted, there are very few problems that his fists can’t solve. Ted is a bit of chauvinist. He is convinced that when it comes to a fight, men are better than women period. He is constantly flirting with women, always in an attempt to get into their pants.
Other Equipment:
- The Wildcat Suit: The Wildcat suit is a simple black catsuit that Ted puts on when he fights crime. It is a full body outfit, only leaving his jaw uncovered. The suit isnt armored, but it is lightweight and made for all weather. He puts boxing tape on his hands as well.
- His motorcycles: Ted has two identical motorcycles, both of which are Harley sports bikes. One is for everyday use and the other is a customized version of the same model for when he goes out as Wildcat. The customized version is faster with stronger armor and a built in police scanner. The normal version is red, while the version he uses as Wildcat is black.

- Grant’s Gym: While you can debate whether or not it counts as equipment, Ted does run a successful gym in Metropolis. While it is a well-staffed gym, the fact that a former boxing champion runs it brings in a fair share of business. On top of the fact that Ted BARELY has to work, Grant’s Gym also has the advantage of acting as the base for the JSA. He also uses it to keep an eye on people who might be worthy of joining the JSA.
History
Ted Grant comes from a long line of boxers. His father and maternal grandfather both fought for years as boxers. His grandfather was a boxer known as the Panther, and had gotten the championship belt. Ted’s father however wasn’t as lucky. When Ted was only four, he watched his father go for his first championship belt. But then, a blow went to the wrong part of his father’s head. He was left punch-drunk from the blow, and could never box again. Thankfully, a combination of insurance and disability meant that they could still pay the bills.
Despite his mother begging him not to, Ted still went into boxing. And Ted Grant, AKA Panther Jr, soon rocketed to the top of the boxing game at age twenty. Ted was well known for a punch he called “the claw”, a hook as strong as a lion’s claw. Unfortunately, his career put a strain on his marriage to a woman named Maria. After Ted refused to give up boxing, Maria left him.
In late 2008 he had retired from the game at 40, and opened Grant’s Gym. Ted, sick of all of the criminals in the city, decided with a few friends to form the JSA. He became the vice-chairman, under the name Wildcat. Ted also uses Grant’s Gym to scope out new recruits.
