She doubled over as the punch connected but kept a grip on her sword. She spun around with her estoc and aimed for the man's chest. Her vision was still blurry but she could make out his shape. She was hurting now, really smarting. When the adrenaline faded she'd really be in a world of pain.

He was using all of his skills to keep himself moving, to not feel the stinging pain he felt in his chest, or anywhere else. He ducked and hooked a punch for her kidney again.

Her vision had more or less cleared but she was really weary now. She was thinking of Wonderland and the infinite possibilities to sustain her energy. It had been a couple days since she'd been there. She hoped she could go there soon and find her parents. But the portals were unpredictable. She might be there later today or in several weeks time. Still she pictured the wonderful place to give her proper motivation. She wouldn't be able to access the portal from a jail cell. This man would not keep her from Wonderland!
She sprinted backwards, avoiding his punch. She needed to reorient herself and figure out her next move. She needed to do it fast, while she still had energy.

He made another leap for her, going for a low punch.

The punch hit and she was forced back. "I'm going to Wonderland!" she shouted to give her inspiration. She was struggling to keep her footing but if she went down it was over. She held out her sword to fend the stranger off while she fixed her position.

He shouted and moved forward, letting anger flow now. She was resilient; his punches should have taken her down by now, especially the kidney blows. He dodged around, aiming a punch for her side.

Alice was getting plenty angry herself. He wanted to lock her away. He wanted to make sure she could never go to Wonderland again! "You can't keep me from Wonderland!" she screamed. She was furious now. She quickly moved her blade to deflect his punch. Meanwhile she shot out her foot and kicked, aiming for the man's stomach. NO ONE WOULD KEEP HER FROM WONDERLAND! NO ONE!

He stepped back and swung his arm down to catch her leg. He gave a yank on it, trying to pull her forward and off balance. He wasn't sure what she was yelling about, and didn't particularly care.

She was REALLY mad now. That meant her movements were slower and less graceful by far but her sense of pain was further dulled and her strength had a violent boost. He foot was yanked and she did fall forward but she caught herself before she hit the ground. She swung her blade like a woman possessed. "YOU WON'T KEEP ME FROM WONDERLAND!" Her strikes would be much more forceful but much less precise.

He could probably slip through, but he didn't want to risk it. He backed himself up, trying to angle himself at the window.

Alice charged at him, blade swinging furiously. This was the person...This was the man who wanted to lock her away, permanently imprison her! Keep her from Wonderland! Unforgivable! Unforgivable!

He ducked and dodged, letting her sword break the window. He leapt onto the ledge and dropped.

Alice was panting heavily. She ran to the window and was about to jump after him when the pain finally hit her. She felt woozy and exhausted. She dropped her sword and fought to remain standing. After a moment she picked it up again. She was a bit calmer now. In much more pain but calmer. Thank goodness he had left. She had lost it there again. She might have killed him if he hadn't escaped. When Wonderland was involved she could just snap and...No time now. The police were coming. She had to get out of the building. She could jump after the man but then he might draw her into another fight. That would be no good.
She ran to a window on the other side and broke the glass with her sword. She'd get out that way.

He had gripped below the window, just out of sight. He waited a few moments, and when he didn't see her look over, he pulled himself up and swung back into the room, hurrying at her back.

She didn't notice him return. She had jumped onto the ledge. She was trying to figure out the safest way down the building. There were other windows and ledges to jump down onto. It would be a bigger problem when she got closer to the bottom.
