"Unique how? Color? Shape? Did it remind you of anything?"

"More in the design," he said, "It had a bit of an old fashioned look to it, but it was also new."

"Do you know what type of old fashioned? Victorian dress?" He might be easier to find if he dressed in old fashioned clothes.

[Bruce Wayne]

"That's not my specialty," he told Jeff.

[Jeffery Thompson]

Jeff smiled apologetically. "Just trying to figure out as much as possible. Accumulate everything first. Then go about determining what's important." Leave no stone unturned. The fact you missed or overlooked was usually the most important one.

"Hopefully the tapes haven't been messed with and I can actually see what this guy looks like. But just in case, did you notice the color of his eyes?"

"His eyes were brown," Bruce told him.

[Jeffery Thompson]

"Did you notice any other items on his person? A watch? A hat? And did you notice him consorting with anyone?" Sometimes stalkers had people help them. And even if that wasn't the case perhaps someone who spoke with this person knew something. Maybe a name. Names were helpful. He doubted Bruce would know but he had to ask. He hoped Bruce understood that this was his job and he wasn't trying to be difficult. He only wished to protect Gotham and its citizens.

"No, I didn't see anything like that," he told Jeff, "You know about all I know."

[Jeffery Thompson]

Jeff finished his notes and put his notebook back in his briefcase. "Please let me see the video tape as soon as possible and ask Jaina about what she heard and give the note back to me as soon as possible. This guy sounds dangerous and I'd like the police to find him and question him. And if you remember anything else please call me immediately. I don't care what time it is."

He was thorough, critical, and meticulous. A great many people hated him for those qualities. He hoped Bruce wasn't one of them. You needed them to be a good prosecutor, especially if you were trying to bring down the untouchables. And stubborn. Couldn't forget stubborn.

Bruce nodded, "I'll get it all taken care of as soon as the party is finished," he assured Jeff.

[Jeffery Thompson]

"Do you mind if I stay here and wait until then?" Jeff was no stranger to late nights. He always wanted to get the information as soon as humanly possible and begin preparations. As much as he was hated no one could ever say he wasn't motivated. And he took all potential cases and threats seriously. It was better to be overcautious than under. Harvey was gone. It was Jeff's turn to do his part for Gotham City.

"As you wish," Bruce said, "I won't stop you."

[Jeffery Thompson]

Jeff smiled. "Thank you. I really appreciate your cooperation." He chuckled. "And I know I'm a pain to deal with. Sorry. Kind of comes with the territory."

"I understand completely," he told Jeff.

[Jeffery Thompson]

"I'd like to ask for your help again. As a billionaire you must see and hear a lot, things most people don't. I would be grateful if you could tell me about anything that seems funny or anything that doesn't add up. Even if it seems like nothing it's better to be suspicious with this city."

Jeff chuckled. "Jen thinks I'm too idealistic but even I need a healthy dose of cynicism and paranoia to do my job. I just haven't given up like she has. I still believe Gotham can be reformed and that we can restore people's faith in the legal system."

"I think most people are good people. They're just too terrified to do the right thing." He placed a hand on Bruce's shoulder. "But people like you and me, we're not scared. We can do the right thing and help others lose their fear." Well the not being scared part wasn't true. Jeff was human. Sometimes the threats and attempted kidnappings really terrified him. But he couldn't let that stop him. He had work to do.
