She could see things close up fairly well now. Anything too far back was just blurry shapes, though. She really should consider training with the League of Shadows. If she could find them and they were willing to help, it would really improve her combat fighting.
As he rolled away she sprinted after him. She couldn't let him get too far away or he'd virtually disappear into the dark. She swung her sword down, aiming for his neck. She wouldn't negotiate until her blade was at his throat. She doubted he'd be willing to let her and Jack escape otherwise. Hopefully Jack was already gone. She was too preoccupied with this fight to tell what he was up to.

As the sword came down, Bruce brought his arms up, clapping them together and catching the blade in front of his face.

Alice pulled back with all her strength, trying to yank the blade out of his hands.

He aimed a kick for her chest as he held tight.

Alice allowed herself to be kicked and tried to use the momentum from the blow to pull the sword free as she was pushed back. Once her adrenaline died down she was going to be in a lot of pain. Even now the bruises were stinging.

He let go, hoping to let her rock backwards and hit the ground. He pushed himself to his feet and moved quickly on her, attempting to get past her sword.

As the force resisting her suddenly disappeared she was thrown off balance. She tottered before softly hitting the ground with her back. She quickly adjusted her grip on the sword and thrust it outwards, attempting to fend the stranger off so she could push herself to her feet.

He twisted and came down on her with an elbow, aiming for the chest. He'd go to disarm after the initial blow.

She didn't have enough time to stand but she managed to move her estoc sideways and block the elbow. She pushed forward with all her might, trying to move his elbow away and give her enough space to stand up. Fighting on the ground would be a lot tougher.

He struggled. She was stronger than she looked, but he had to take her out, now.
He slid a hand out and went for hers, to try to make her drop the sword.

Alice was on the ground and not in a favorable position but this battle wasn't yet lost. She continued to push with all her strength as his hand latched onto her own. She aimed a kick for his hand. As a gymnast she could make her leg bend much further than most people could and her aim was pretty darn good. You needed to be precise to stick tough landings on the balance beam, after all. If her leg made contact she'd attempt to wrench her hand free of his grip. If he let go she'd try to crawl back and stand.

He took the kick, but held tight. He was used to pain, used to having his grip assaulted. One kick wouldn't break it, not when it was this important.

It was no good. His grip was too strong to wrench free. She could still move her estoc if she put enough force behind her free hand but she wouldn't be able to control the Vorpal Blade as well. Best thing to do would be keep kicking until he loosened his grip and she could pull back. She aimed for his hand again. This time she planned on unleashing kicks in quick succession. There would be less power behind each one but hopefully the continued force would overwhelm him.

He took three hits before letting go and rolling, grabbing at her leg and trying to yank her aside, just to disorient her with his move, and then get some free shots in.

Finally he released her and she crawled back. He had his hand around her leg before she could stand up. The yank pulled her forward a bit but at least she had time to readjust her grip on the sword. Relying solely on upper body strength she swung down with the estoc, aiming for the hand still clutching her leg.
