Overview:
Good, kind, caring, compassionate and reasonable. Those are all words that would once have described Helena, but no longer. She’s become cold, cruel and vindictive, capable of murder without second thought, or even really concealing her own identity half the time. They’ll be dead anyway.
She has no real morality. She goes onto whatever side can get her the farthest in her goals. Everything that she needs, no matter the price, will be hers. She’ll use her body, she’ll murder, she’ll do whatever she has to in order to get assistance. She’s slept her way through Italian assassins to gain training, for instance.
No morals, no remorse. She’s unreasonable, unstable, vengeful, ruthless, volatile and violent. She’s driven only by revenge. She manipulates and threatens anyone, even the innocent. She attempts to justify everything she does unto herself, making it appear that she might still have shreds of her old self remaining, but they’re hidden very deeply, almost unreachable, but probably still there. If she had the proper help, she might return to who she once was.
She’s aloof, driven only to kill her father and any others associated with him. Her skills are great, although her marksmanship is lacking. Her martial arts are high; she’s very agile and alert.

History
She was born to mafia boss Frank Bertinelli, but didn’t know about his connections until she was a teenager. Her mother was out of the picture almost immediately. She thought he was in construction, which was his cover. There were always a lot of people around, and they all showed her respect, which she never understood, until that revelation.
Under the cover of learning for self-defense, Frank had Helena learn how to defend herself and how to shoot. This was partially true; defense against others who might target her to get at Frank. Frank was more covering himself than trying to help her.
When she was fifteen, she was raped by multiple members of her father’s criminal organization, high ranked members. Her father allowed it. This drove her to hate him, and plot against him. When she became seventeen she was able to contact the FBI successfully and start to be a mole for them.
She began acting as a mole, and did all she could to stop her father. She had to stop however when she went to Italy to attend college in her family’s homeland. She trained with an ancient group of assassins while there, using her body and anything else she had to in order to gain training.
She learned to focus her anger, her strength. She wasn’t good at shooting, but she was skilled at combat, and using her agility to her advantage. When she returned to the States, she continued to undermine her father as much as she could, and began killing her father’s men, those who had raped her.
She continued on this way for years. When she encountered Oliver Queen, she began a relationship with him and they learned of each other’s secrets. She was given garb by him to fight alongside of him, and trained to use a bow (although not very well, she lacked the discipline, even with a crossbow).
She eventually left him to continue to hunt her father and the remains of his organization after bringing most of it crashing down with Oliver’s help. She does anything she can to try to get at him, but has so far been unsuccessful. This is now her only goal in life; to murder her father.
She’s become associated with the Birds of Prey during this time.
